They were called the new cupcake of summer of 2013. The flaky pastries were bought in the dozens early in the morning so people could sell them for higher amounts of money, creating an underground black market for these delicious breakfast pastries.These prized treats, named the cronut, is a hybrid of the French breakfast item, the croissant, and America’s breakfast go-to, the donut.
